I’m very forgetful about that kind of thing! I also finally added the book style customization options. A basic book style where the solid spine color wraps around to the back side, and a true book style where the solid is on the spine only.

Today, while I’m waiting again for paint to dry and otherwise amuse myself while my sister occupies my sewing room, I am going through and revamping my listing descriptions. Not only to include the new book style options, but because it was sorely over due!

If you haven’t already heard, I decided last Saturday to put in my two weeks notice to pursue sewing full time. Probably one of the scariest things I’ve ever done!

I will likely spend the first half of May getting everything in order and actually set myself up as a proper business in the eyes of big brother. Then, of course, many new things shall follow!

I can’t wait to be able to spend more time on my website, Facebook, add more fabrics, hash out new items and more. Yay!

I knew immediately I would want custom pieces from him. Off the bat I bought a Boba Fett for my sister, and set about coveting it all this time. My overall indecisiveness and day to day whatsits kept me from having my own glitter art. As it so happened, a wee bit ago he posted a piece of a character that was most definitely in my top 5: Spock! I requested mine in red and it’s so effing awesome!! It really is hard to capture the true awesomeness of these glitter pieces (first photo no flash, second flash). Joe and I are determined to get a rather large glitter art of Scorpius (♥ Farscape) made. We just need to decide on a photo and save up a bit.

In actual news regarding my shop, I will post in a little bit here a listing that will allow people to add insurance to their orders. In listing form, it’s much easier and convenient for everyone. Also, it will probably bring to attention that it really is an inexpensive way to add peace of mind!

Yay!

In a little bit I’ll be posting a customize option for the iPod cases to add laminate. Laminating the cotton makes them water resistant and nearly stain proof! Pretty awesome indeed. Eventually I hope to add the same option for the eReader covers, but I would like to test drive one first. I’ve already been using a laminated iPod case for over a year now and it’s held up quite well. It has the typical cracking at the spine where it’s folded back at, however, it’s very minimal and barely noticeable. I would like to assume the same would hold true for the covers. I just want know first hand… first!

Another customizing option soon to come, I will add the option to have *some* covers made into the “book-style,” where the blocked fabrics mimic the look of a two toned hardcover book. Currently it is only available in a couple of fabrics. I quite fancy the look personally and it works especially well with small scale prints.

*Not all prints will be compatible with this option, either because they are too large or because there is not a coordinating color to pair the print fabric with.

Lastly, someday I would very much like to have a fabric gallery for people to choose fabrics from. Super neat and tidy… fabrics appropriately named, tagged, sorted, searchable… that’s a long ways off with my current schedule. So for now I offer this: the Fabrics page will hold the photos I have sent to people as a result of their inquiry as to whether I had more available. From now on I will likely start posting photos here and there whenever I feel like it or have a spare bit of time, not just when some one has a new search query. We’ll just have to suffer with the rudimentary row and column method to identify fabrics for the time being.

So I FINALLY created a Facebook page for Dichotomic Design… I am epic slow when it comes to some things. I know this and I’m sorry! I hope to pay it better mind than I have the site here as of late. Only time will tell.

I am a sucker for redundancy every now and then so I will add the same update here that I just posted on Facebook, if a bit more long winded this time!

A couple weeks back a lovely young gal asked for a long wallet to match the iPod case she had purchased shortly before. I obliged immediately, as it truly was something I had been meaning to do for quite some time.

It came out pretty spiffy if I do say so myself. Super simple, but no less awesome for it. The inside sports a long pocket for cash on one side and 4 card pockets on the other. I made a demo wallet out of purple faux suede that I am using now. ‘Cause like I said, awesome!

There are not any listed in the shop yet, but requests are welcome. They can be made with just about any of the fabrics seen in my shop.

Still trying to get back into the sewing/Etsy groove after my prolonged hiatus. I hadn’t intended to take so much time off, it just sorta happened, and things would pop up and interfere with getting back on track.

So I’ve finally opened back up, but so far I only have some ready made iPod cases posted. I will slowly add some made to order e-Reader covers and try to get in the habit of having some ready made ones available along side the iPod cases. I am also going to start photographing some of my insane fabric hoard and one can choose from a “gallery” what fabric they would like their cover made from.

In the meantime, I’m posting a coupon for 20% off. Just because I can!

Code: JUSTBECAUSE20
Expiration: Unknown
